that i'm not that young and carefree anymore. However, there is still
the oddity that at the age of 23 my parents still need to wake me up in
the morning so that i can go take a shower and groom myself to a
socially acceptable standard. Perhaps today was a reminder that though
i'm 1/4 through my life i'm still no where ready to face the real world
and assume the responsability that age imparts to all of us. Or perhaps
it was the fact that it was 11am and i was still in bed that my mom
felt the need to wake me and tell me to get my ass out the door.....

Recently picked up the book "Blood Sweat & Tears: The Evolution of
Work" by Richard Donkin. It was assigned as a reading for my
International Busing class back when i was in Undergrad doing my Minor
in Management and thought it'd read it again cause it was pretty
interesting. As humans advance technologically work has become more
ingrained into our lives then all previous centuries. Wheras in the
past people would go to work and then leave that work for the refuge of
home we now take that work home with us. Technology has made it
possible to simply never stop working. The 9-to-5 that defines a normal
workday has stretched into our homes and commutes with the advent of
wireless technologies and communication devices. The average worker
over the past 20yrs till 1992 has increased their work hours by the
equivilant of 1 month/year.

"it is as if the world has become split into two societies - one with
the means to enjoy leisure (activities) but not the time, and one that
has the time but not the means" -
describes the mass of people
who work so much that they have the money to take vacations but
not the time because they work so much, and those who have the time but
don't make enough to enjoy a vacation. So, Why do you work? Money to
survive would be the main answer... but then, why do continue to work
even once we've made enough to survive? This generation has seen more
disposable income then probably all previous generations combined. A
13yr old in today's society probably has the same buying power as a
25yr old of a previous generation. With so much disposable income, so
much available resources, why does personal debt still continue
to rise? Has work become something more then a means of survival?

If we do not have a higher power, there is no reason to be
responsible, no consequences at all. I believe in God, and for me to
think of someone else not believing in God would baffle me. The idea of
the 'Big Bang' theory means that we're here as an accident, not the
standard accidents you hear about, but the TRUE form of Accident:
Chaos. Since, chaos can not result in anything but Chaos, this would
mean that all order is not order at all, that it is chaos. A choatic
event can not allow for any sort of order.

Instead of accepting the responsibility for our own actions, we
have come up with ways to disengage ourselves from it. We have made the
word accident apply to anything that we want it too. Run a stop sign
and hit a car, kill someone? Accident. In truth? It's not an accident
at all, it's a MISHAP or a mistake, or even a bad judgement, but by
saying Accident we declare there is no fault on us for it. Take a look
around the world, and see how we term the things which are happening,
something tragic? We automatically label it as an accident rather then
putting the blame where it should be, on those who did it.

It is important that we assume the responsibility for our actions,
and as a society that was FORMED on the fact that GOD Not only exists,
but that we are his children, we are simply putting the blame on the
lack of God, thus, we lose all our accountability.

How very sad it is to see such a great nation start looking for
ways to get out of accountability by stating...there is no God at all.
____________________________________________________________________

Life. . . is Hard

Sometimes you don't realize the impact you have on others until you do something really stupid that changes everything. Sometimes things to us seems so natural and normal that we just assume others will see it as "Just the way you are" instead of blowing it complete out of proportion and taking meaning to something that isn't really there. The person who misunderstands ends up getting hurt and the other ends up being victimized by his/her own natural actions. This has always been a problem and even for myself it has happened on many occassions. There really is no simple solution because when people's emotions get involved it is never simple or even logical. Logic cannot explain emotions but logic can justify actions so there is a two sided view of things. So in the end, Logic can explain the cause, but not the effect which in itself does not make sense.

One solution would be for all humans to be emotionless. View everything as the law, being somewhat black & white and impartial to everyone we meet, virtually turning everyone into robots and thereby removing humanity. Being robots would solve tons of problems but is impossible so we'll leave that to rest.
Another solution is to just stop analyzing the actions of others. Yes, there may be a hidden meaning behind the things people do but why complicate and puzzle over these intricacies and just let things be. I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with taking things at face value because thats exactly how things are. By taking things at face value it forces others to be more direct in their interactions, stating what they want and how they feel instead of beating large circles around imaginary bushes. Shy people learn to build enough courage to ask for what they need and the verbose people learn to be more direct. I'm not denying the fact that being direct can hurt people but being honest to what you need and feel is worth something.

I'm probably guilty of whatever i've written up above. I have the tendency to think too much or have others analyse my actions, which have led to some pretty bad situations. We learn as we go though and share our experience with others.

    1. Don't be bitter about being nice if someone takes it the wrong way.
    2. Think before you act and adjust yourself to the people you are with.
    3. Be honest and solve problems before they happen.
______________________________________________________________________
In other news, my cousin gave birth to a baby girl!!!
so i'm like and Uncle or something.. lol i dont' know what it is in chinese though .
